The Christophe Harbour Follies: Book One

"IF...Life and Times in Christophe Harbour"

A story about  friendship, romance, break-ups, make-ups, misunderstandings, fights, quite a bit of silliness and a little bit of rock and roll

Howdie.  My name is Toni.  I've been playing The Sims 2 since a week after it was released in September 2004, and I am an avid in-game picture taker.

Back in 2010,I started to share the tale of the goings ons in my neighbourhood Christophe Harbour (unabashedly inspired by the exotic city of New Orleans), at a wonderful little site I contribute to called Sugah's Place.

A story about some of my main characters started to take on a life of its own, and the response was so encouraging, I decided to post the main story line as a separate tale here so persons with a little time on their hands and a mild curiousity about what others do with their games, could follow along.

I've called this rather complex tale "If..."

There's friendship, romance, break-ups, make-ups, misunderstandings, fights, quite a bit of silliness and a little bit of rock and roll.

Can you have a preamble after an introduction?  Hmmmmm...

Well, while we ponder that...here's some info primarily for TS2 players, particularly those who have played Pleasantview.

If you've never played The Sims 2, you may just want to skip this installment.  It's not critical to the story line.

Where was I?  Right!  Preamble for simmers!

After getting a new computer, I decided to start a new neighbourhood from scratch, but being attached to many of my old families, I re-created my favourite ones.

Before we meet the folks in Christophe Harbour, I just wanted to alert you about my rather rabid Sim-manipulation! lol!

I hate that townies and NPCs have no family ties (especially the kids) or worse, no memories, so in a rather labourous exercise, I ressurected some dead sims, and using TwoJeff's SimBlender and SimPe I created a few new family ties. I also used SimPe to create full memories for every single playable sim, townie and NPC. It took months!

You will likely stumble across some familiar looking names. I've transplanted the original Maxis-made families from Plesantview and moved them into Christopher Harbour and also adopted one from one of the later EPs (the Goodies).

I do use custom default skintones, and improved CAS default faces. I've done a little plastic surgery on the Maxis sims I decided to keep, and in some cases changed skintones and bodyshapes. I've also changed some surnames.

The Oldies = Olsons
Broke = Brookes
Burb = Burke
Goodie = Gladstone

Mortimer Goth and Faith Gladstone (Goodie) are siblings.
